If I Feel Low

gentle guitar chords
sing through the air of my grief
seeking to lift me

bell-like the notes ring
though cannot deny the truth
that tears can take wing

would that the music
helped me find the fulfillment
of early promise

I find great solace in music Judy. I allow myself to get lost in the rhythms and melodies, ignoring everything else. I often put on the earphones, turn the volume up full blast, and drift and float into oblivion. For me, it's a form of meditation.

I, too, enjoy gentle, soothing music. I once [briefly] played guitar, but I mostly did piano. Now, I play neither, but the memory lingers.
Peace,
Muff

HI JUDY, oh yes, music. It is our haven, our peace, passion and love as well. My husband, a seasoned guitarist, classically trained pianist, singer and song writer is quite gifted and has brought meaning and joy to many of life's adventures. I sing some harmony and enjoy percussion. I had a drum set for years, and I am on some of his original recordings. I still have my various sets of drum sticks and keep the beat regardless. :-)
Music is a universal language for all of us to embrace.
Love Gail
peace....

Karen, it is easy to immerse oneself in music though I have to admit that turning the volume up full blast is something I have not done in a while.

Muff, I have always said that I wished I had taken up the piano. For one, unlike the violin I studied when I was younger, you don’t need an accompanying ensemble or orchestra to derive full pleasure.

Gail, how wonderful that your husband is a musician. And, I love keeping the beat!

Kalyan, thank you for your kind words.
