Getting Things Done

It used to serve me.
Push, push, push, and keep going
to finish a job.

I still complete tasks,
pressing on through exhaustion
until I collapse.

Dogged willpower
stubbornly commands and rules.
Not always for good.

I Marvel

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Angelo_Trezzini_-_A_Tired_Seamstress.jpg

I stumble onward
through a dense fog of fatigue,
managing my chores.

Ever mindful of
pain my steady companion,
I muster true grit.

It is a marvel
how much I do accomplish
despite shortcomings.

This I Believe — Encore

I do not know how
I will manage to endure,
but I trust I shall.

I tap into roots
spiritual and grounded.
My center will hold.

Faith in renewal
anchors my spirit in hope
my life will be blessed.

Holding On

It seems I forget
my previous healthy state,
fooled by new normals.

My expectations
already lowered suffer
a further decline.

I seek to retain
my grasp of how good health feels,
not just to make do.

Endurance

I do not know how
I will manage to endure,
but I know I shall.

Life’s trajectory
guarantees little indeed.
One can only hope.

I tap into roots
spiritual and grounded.
My center will hold.
