Companions gather
from all corners of the globe
on the internet.
Veteran or new,
each knows MS's terrors.
No need to explain.
Compassion abounds
among fellow travelers.
The journey is shared.
**** On Life's Journey
Research shows that, “in all cultures, the conviction that one’s predicament is hopeless may cause or hasten disintegration and death.” [Jerome and Julia Frank, Persuasion and Healing] The tools available to me to fight this disease are limited. Could it be that keeping hope alive is the strongest weapon in my arsenal?

Being a companion on this journey has helped me tremendously. In real life, I "hide" my struggles, but on the interwebby, I can speak out and know that my words are being heard. It refreshes my soul!
Indeed - I feel safe to "be" me here amongst other MS'ers. A bitter sweet gift.
Love Gail
peace.....
Ram Dass has said, of things on a much bigger and simpler scale than just MS (really bigger than MS?)...
We're just walking each other home.
I wish I also can bring compassion. I am reading to learn, becuase I am not an MSer. Thank you for writing!
Muff, yes, we don't have to hide our struggles, and that makes life so much more bearable.
Gail, isn't it wonderful to have found a safe place, even if bittersweet.
Robert, yes, we are walking each other home. What a wonderful way of viewing this particular shared journey.
Anonymous, I thank you for making the effort to learn. That will make life easier for anyone in your life who has MS.
