Future Promise

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Chiltern_Hoarfrost_-_geograph.org.uk_-_1274946.jpg

Morning hoarfrost forms
fresh dew frozen on parched grass
before sunlight comes.

A slumbering world
poised to shed its dormancy
awaits light’s coming.

What life may exist
beneath apparent stillness
holds future promise.

I love the imagery here! While it may not always be your intent, I find myself taking the literal picture drawn and extended it to the philosophical. And this one, I love!

HI JUDY - oh yes, the veil of mystery shielding the unknown - both frightening and promising.
Love to you
Gail

A lovely poem Judy. I appreciate the hope of future promise, but at this time,I am content with dormancy. Stillness has it's virtues.

Muff, it may not be my intent to be philosophical but it just happens. My poems are as much a revelation to me as they are to those who read them.

Gail, yes, it is both frightening and promising. It sometimes gets uncomfortable, but life itself is a mystery.

Karen, I have come to appreciate stillness after the arrival of MS and its forcing me away from the usual activity.

Connie, how nice to see you here! Thank you for appreciating the poem and for following my blog.

Kim, and when light comes, especially into our awareness, life is transformed.
